John 10:1-13

Good morning, Living Hope Church family. I hope each and every one of you are doing well this morning. In this wonderful passage of Scripture, we can note some peculiarities of the Christian life.

The Believer enters through the door; in other words, he chooses a well-defined path. It is a person who has known Jesus, the door, and, having known Him, accepts Him, thus deciding to enter the path of God’s will. Following the right path, the Believer finds before him an open door. The door of salvation and the realization of God’s love, the door of grace that introduces him into the presence of God. And once in the presence of God, he hears His voice and can listen to words of eternal life. The Believer knows he is personally known, never feels alone and abandoned, and has the certainty of always being under divine protection. The fact that the Good Shepherd knows His sheep personally by name speaks of the special relationship that exists between a believer and God. Moreover, this should push us to love and serve the Lord more with greater love and honour. The Good Shepherd leads His sheep by going ahead of them.

How wonderful to be led by such an infallible guide!

Jesus is the Good Shepherd; He loves us with a tender and great love. He will lead us to green pastures and to still waters for His name’s sake. Believer’s, knowing the Good Shepherd and listening to His voice, follow Him and are careful not to follow the stranger. Those who know Jesus seek to remain constantly close to the Good Shepherd who truly loves them, who is interested in them, and who leads them and guides them with love.
