Lamentations 3:22-23

Good morning, church family. As we begin this day together, let us anchor our hearts in the Word of God: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” What a powerful way to begin the day. Before we check our schedules, face our responsibilities, or carry the weight of our concerns, we are reminded that God’s mercy is already here. His love did not run out overnight. His faithfulness did not weaken while we slept. This morning is not empty – it is filled with fresh mercy from the hand of God.

Lamentations was written in a time of sorrow and devastation, which makes this verse even more beautiful. It teaches us that biblical hope is not denial; it is confidence in God amid real pain. Some of us come into this morning with joy, and others come with heavy hearts. Nevertheless, all of us stand on the same foundation: the steadfast love of the Lord. God is holy and sovereign, yet He is also near to the brokenhearted. In Jesus Christ, we see this clearly. Christ is the fullest expression of God’s faithfulness – the One who carried our sin, conquered death, and rose again so that we would never be abandoned. Because of Him, we do not merely hope for mercy; we live in it.

So today, let us walk as people who have received new mercy. If God has been patient with us, let us be patient with others. If God has met us with compassion, let us show compassion in our words and actions. The world may be filled with anxiety, pressure, and division, but the church can be a people of peace because we know who holds us. Even the quiet acts of faithfulness matter today: a prayer before a conversation, a kind response instead of a sharp one, a decision to trust God when the path is unclear. These are not small things – they are the fruit of hearts grounded in the faithfulness of God.

Church family, whatever this day brings, remember this: you are not held together by your own strength, but by the steadfast love of the Lord. His mercies are new this morning. His grace is sufficient for today. His faithfulness will not fail you. So lift your heart, fix your eyes on Christ, and walk forward in peace. Great is His faithfulness. Amen.
